Small Fluch-cut distal and cutting Pliers T.C

Compact orthodontic distal cutter designed for flush wire trimming and controlled segment retention in posterior and restricted intraoral spaces.

Key Features:
• Surgical-grade stainless steel construction ensures durability and corrosion resistance
• 13cm overall length for precise intraoral handling in posterior regions
• Compact cutting head design minimizes cheek and soft-tissue impingement
• Tungsten carbide insert blades on both jaws provide consistent flush-cut performance
• Integrated safety hold channel retains cut wire segments during closure
• Cuts stainless steel and NiTi archwires from .014″ up to .018″ × .025″
• Box-joint pivot maintains stable jaw alignment during clinical use
• Autoclavable at 132–135°C for standard sterilization workflows

Small Fluch-cut distal and cutting Pliers T.C

Posterior access separates a clean distal trim from a forced one, and head size determines whether the instrument fits cleanly or crowds against buccal tissue. The Small Flush-Cut Distal and Cutting Pliers TC (Article# LS8-117) is constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel at 13cm overall length with a deliberately compact cutting head, narrower than the large variant, reducing cheek impingement in tight posterior quadrants. Both opposing jaw faces carry tungsten carbide insert blades, and a safety hold channel in the jaw gap captures the severed wire segment on closure, preventing intraoral displacement.

The compact TC blades cut flush against the buccal tube exit face, leaving no protruding distal wire tail between appointments. Cutting capacity spans stainless steel and NiTi archwires from .014″ minimum up to .018″ × .025″ rectangular cross-section in a single closure. Gold-tipped handles identify TC-grade status within the instrument tray, and the box-joint pivot sustains precise blade alignment through extended clinical service. The Small TC Safety Hold Distal End Cutter body withstands repeated autoclave sterilization at 132–135°C without blade offset, TC insert loosening, or corrosion.

Orthodontists use the Small Flush-Cut Distal and Cutting Pliers TC during fixed orthodontic appliance therapy specifically when reduced intraoral space limits access, crowded posterior segments, narrow arch forms, pediatric patients, and cases where buccal soft tissue proximity makes a wide cutting head impractical. The clinician positions the compact head flush against the molar buccal tube exit, closes in a single action, and removes the retained wire segment clear of the oral cavity.

Chairside access problems rarely announce themselves in advance, and Leader Surgical prepares orthodontists for them by offering the Distal End Cutter in a compact head configuration that reaches where larger instruments cannot, without asking the clinician to compromise on cut quality or patient safety.

What does “T.C.” stand for?
T.C. stands for Tungsten Carbide. These are hard, durable inserts placed on the cutting edges to ensure long-lasting sharpness, precision cutting, and resistance to wear.
