The Slipper Tweezers are built from surgical-grade stainless steel with a satin finish across the full body. The instrument is a single rigid arm; no pivot, no spring, no hinge, with a slim flat handle tapering gradually from the grip end toward the working tip. The terminal tip forms a tight S-curve profile: the shaft bends inward and then hooks sharply outward at the very end, creating the distinctive slipper-shaped geometry that gives this instrument its name. This short-hooked terminal point is fine enough to slip under elastomeric O-rings and power chain modules without disturbing adjacent bracket positions. The Leader Surgical brand mark is engraved at the lower handle section.
The S-curve hook engages the inner surface of an elastomeric module and stretches it over the bracket tie-wing in a single controlled motion. The hook geometry keeps the module centered on the tip during transfer, preventing the elastomeric ring from slipping off before it reaches the tie-wing. The slim handle taper keeps the operator’s fingers well back from the working field, maintaining clear visual access to the bracket during ligation. The instrument is fully autoclavable at 134°C and meets CE, FDA, and ISO 13485 standards. Elastomeric Module Placement Tweezers of this single-arm design are catalogued separately from bracket-holding tweezers in all major orthodontic supply references.
Orthodontic assistants and orthodontists use the Slipper Tweezers at every adjustment appointment, seating elastomeric O-rings and power chain modules over bracket tie-wings after archwire placement, and repositioning ligature ties that have loosened between visits.
Leader Surgical produces this instrument to verified S-curve tip geometry tolerances, ensuring the hook dimension remains consistent enough for reliable elastomeric module engagement across the full range of standard bracket tie-wing widths. The Orthodontic Slipper Tweezer Ligature Tool platform from Leader Surgical covers both anterior and posterior ligation tasks in a single slim-handle design.
What are the three types of tweezers?
A good tweezer set only needs three types to start: Slanted, curved, and precision. Each one is designed to do a different job. Regine tweezers create all three with expert precision and craftsmanship. Read on to see why these three types are essential for every household and what they’re used for.
