The Kelly Artery Forceps 14cm measures 14 cm in overall length and is hot-drop forged from AISI 420 surgical stainless steel with a mirror-polished corrosion-resistant finish. The straight jaw configuration carries horizontal transverse serrations running across the distal half of the jaw length, not the full jaw which is the defining anatomical feature that distinguishes the Kelly pattern from heavier full-serration hemostats. The serration rows are cut horizontally across both jaw faces, interlocking when closed to grip tissue and vessel walls without longitudinal slippage. A multi-position box-joint ratchet lock between the shanks provides three incremental locking positions, allowing the operator to adjust clamping force progressively without releasing the instrument.
The tapered jaw profile of these Kelly Forceps 14cm provides access to confined anatomical sites while maintaining enough jaw width to grip medium-caliber vessels and tissue bundles securely. The standard stainless finger rings accommodate thumb and ring-finger placement for both right and left-handed users, with adequate bow diameter to prevent ring fatigue during extended clamping sequences. The instrument passes boil, performance, and shape quality tests and is fully autoclavable and ultrasonic cleaning compatible without surface degradation.
Oral surgeons, general surgeons, and dental surgeons use the Kelly Artery Forceps 14cm to clamp and ligate blood vessels during surgical extractions, implant surgery, and soft tissue procedures, as well as to manipulate suture needles, grasp tissue flaps, and remove foreign bodies from the surgical field. Kelly Forceps at this 14 cm length also serve as a standard hemostatic clamp during third molar removal and post-extraction socket management where bleeding vessel control is required.
Leader Surgical forges this instrument to consistent jaw geometry and ratchet tension specifications, because in hemostasis, grip failure mid-procedure is simply not an option.
What are scissor forceps used for?
Spring forceps are small scissors used mostly in eye surgery or microsurgery. The handles end in flat springs connected with a pivot joint. The cutting action is achieved by pressing the handles together. As the pressure is released, the spring action opens the jaws.
