Easy Access Tweezers
The Easy Access Tweezers are constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel with a satin finish across the full body. The instrument is a single rigid arm; no pivot, no spring mechanism, with a long, wide flat-paddle handle that tapers toward the working end. The defining structural feature is the terminal tip: a wide, flat rectangular blade turned at 90 degrees to the handle axis. This perpendicular geometry positions the blade face parallel to the tooth surface during posterior access, where standard angled tips cannot achieve flush blade-to-bracket contact without handle obstruction blocking the operator’s approach path. The Leader Surgical brand mark is engraved at the lower handle section.
The 90-degree blade face is smooth across its working surface, allowing clean bracket contact during positioning without creating drag or adhesive pickup on the tip face. The wide, flat handle body keeps the operator’s fingers stable during placement, reducing unintentional torque at the blade tip. At approximately 14cm in length, the handle provides sufficient clearance between the operator’s hand and the posterior oral field. The instrument is fully autoclavable at 134°C and meets FDA, CE, and ISO 13485 standards. Tweezers in this perpendicular-blade configuration are catalogued as a distinct posterior-access category in international orthodontic supply references.
Orthodontists use the Easy Access Tweezers when placing and adjusting brackets on premolars and molars, specifically where the perpendicular blade delivers direct face-on contact with the bracket base and allows fine positional adjustments without clearing the handle away from the posterior arch.
Leader Surgical produces this instrument with verified 90-degree blade-angle tolerances and smooth tip-face surface treatment, ensuring consistent bracket contact geometry across all standard posterior bracket base dimensions. The Orthodontic Tweezers platform from LS covers all access geometries from anterior to deep posterior use.
What makes these “Easy Access” compared to standard tweezers?
They typically feature an angled or curved tip (often 45–60°) and an ergonomic wide-grip body. This design keeps your hand out of your direct line of sight, allowing you to see exactly what you are gripping in tight or hard-to-reach areas like the back of the mouth or deep inside electronic components.
