Dental Round Blade Holder

This Dental Round Blade Holder set includes two instruments: the standard Blade Holder (LS9-506) and the Micro Blade Holder (LS9-507). Both are machined from high-grade surgical stainless steel with a matte, non-reflective surface finish that reduces glare under surgical loupes and operating microscopes. The LS9-506 features a flat, tapered body with four elongated fenestrations — oval cutouts spaced along the mid-shaft — that reduce overall weight without weakening the structural frame. It accepts standard scalpel blades including sizes #10, #11, #12, #15, and #15C through a front-loading blade slot mechanism. Total length is approximately 18cm.

The LS9-507 Blade Holder Round carries a fully cylindrical, knurled handle barrel with a pronounced wavy-grip profile, terminating in a dome-shaped cap at the proximal end. This round cross-section allows free axial rotation between the fingertips — a key advantage when adjusting blade angle mid-incision without repositioning the hand. It accommodates micro-blades such as the Beaver-style #64 and #67 series, which are less than half the size of standard blades. Both instruments are fully autoclavable and reusable. The scalpel blade holder – round design follows the modified pen grip convention standard in microsurgical practice.

Periodontists and oral surgeons rely on the Dental Round Blade Holder pair across a range of procedures. The LS9-506 is the instrument of choice for initial full-thickness mucoperiosteal flap incisions during dental implant placement and bone grafting surgeries. The LS9-507 is favored by microsurgical periodontists during connective tissue grafting, papilla reconstruction, and apicoectomies, where blade repositioning in tight interdental spaces demands fingertip-level rotational control.

Leader Surgical delivers both instruments with consistent dimensional tolerances and ISO-compliant manufacturing standards, making them a dependable choice for oral surgery practices that require reliability across every sterilization cycle.

What is the function of blade holder?
The blade holder is mounted or integrated into the doctor or roll cleaning structure. Its main purpose is to hold the blade in place. The blade is the working portion of the system that engages the roll surface to perform the function of cleaning and removing water or contaminants or the sheet from the roll surface.
