Dental Pocket Ruler
The Dental Pocket Ruler is manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel, featuring a flat rectangular ruler body measuring approximately 150mm in overall length and 10mm in width. Both edges carry engraved dual-scale graduation markings; millimeters on one edge and inches on the opposing edge, with clearly stamped numerical increments at every 5mm and 10mm interval. A sliding stop cursor mechanism is mounted centrally on the ruler body, allowing fixed reference point placement during repeated measurements without remarking.
The sliding cursor of this dental sliding caliper ruler moves freely along the full ruler length and locks at any position for consistent repeat measurements across multiple clinical reference points. The flat stainless-steel profile allows stable placement against tooth surfaces, bone margins, and radiographic overlays without rocking or positional shift. This Dental Ruler is fully autoclavable at 134°C, maintaining engraved scale legibility, cursor slide mechanism function, and dimensional accuracy through repeated sterilization cycles without rust, scale fading, or mechanical stiffening.
The Dental Pocket Ruler is used by orthodontists, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, and implantologists as part of routine Measuring Instruments protocol during treatment planning and clinical procedures. The clinician places the ruler against anatomical landmarks, measuring overjet, overbite, edentulous ridge width, implant site dimensions, or bracket placement distances, using the sliding cursor to mark reference points and verify measurements against treatment plan specifications before proceeding.
Leader Surgical appreciates that accurate clinical measurement underlies every successful dental procedure, this pocket ruler reflects the brand’s commitment to supplying fundamental diagnostic instruments with the same material integrity and dimensional reliability it applies to its surgical instrument range, ensuring clinicians have dependable measurement tools available at every stage of treatment.
How to measure dental pockets?
We place a dental probe (a very thin, narrow instrument) beside your tooth beneath your gum line and scan over every tooth. According to the Mayo Clinic, the pocket depth in a healthy mouth is usually between 1 and 3 millimeters (mm). Pockets deeper than 4 mm may indicate periodontitis.
