Bracket Placing Tweezers

The Bracket Placing Tweezers are built from surgical-grade stainless steel with a high-polish finish. Unlike every single-arm instrument preceding it in this series, this is a two-arm spring-action tweezer, two slim, flat arms joined at a rounded base, held open by natural spring tension and closed by finger pressure. Both arms are uniformly slim along their full length with no shoulder blocks, paddle sections, or pressing pads. The tips converge to smooth, fine curved points; no serrations on the contact surface, allowing the bracket to release cleanly from the tip face after placement without adhesive drag. The Leader Surgical brand mark is engraved on one arm at the lower handle section.

The smooth tip texture specifically suits pre-loading: the operator picks up the composite-loaded bracket from the tray before entering the oral field, keeping the bonding surface undisturbed during transfer. The mesial-distal tip contact grips the bracket at both ends simultaneously, maintaining bracket orientation during the transfer arc from tray to tooth. The natural spring tension keeps the arms separated between working strokes, eliminating the need for deliberate hand repositioning. The instrument is fully autoclavable at 134°C and meets FDA, CE, and ISO 13485 standards.

Orthodontists use the Bracket Placing Tweezers during direct bonding procedures, pre-loading composite-applied brackets from the bonding tray and transporting them to the acid-etched tooth surface for anteriors and premolars. The Direct Bond Bracket Tweezers 678-212 designation identifies this smooth-tip two-arm configuration as the international catalog standard for direct bond bracket transfer.

Leader Surgical produces this instrument with verified tip-convergence alignment and smooth-face surface finish, ensuring clean bracket release and consistent mesial-distal grip across the full Bracket Placing Tweezer range.

What is the difference between “reverse-action” and standard tweezers?
Standard tweezers require continuous pressure to hold an object. Reverse-action (self-locking) tweezers stay closed by default and only open when you squeeze the handle. This provides a secure, hands-free grip that prevents dropping small brackets during the bonding process.
