The blade profile is notably thinner than standard spear-point knives, reducing tissue displacement during intrasulcular insertion before the incision begins. The round ringed knurled handle is machined from surgical-grade stainless steel, measuring 165 mm (6.5 inches) overall, balancing consistently at mid-handle during push and pull incision strokes.
The narrow blade design on the 2 Reddy Thin Periodontal Knife specifically reduces the risk of damaging sulcular walls during initial intrasulcular incisions from the base of the sulcus to the alveolar crest.
