The Star Ratchet Wrench 6.35mm Universal (LS9-321) is a single-piece, straight-profile hand instrument machined from medical-grade stainless steel with a satin surface finish. The drive end houses a 6.35mm universal hexagonal socket that accepts any standard 6.35mm hex driver implant wrench tip, while the opposing end features an open hexagonal ratchet head. A knurled, dimpled mid-shaft section spans the grip zone, providing consistent finger purchase during confined intraoral access. The wrench delivers a working torque range of 10–45 Newton-centimeters.
The ratchet head engages clockwise rotation for tightening while freewheeling counterclockwise, eliminating the need to reposition the hand between turns. The Dental Implant Universal Torque Ratchet Wrench design accommodates driver tips compatible with Zimmer®, MIS®, BioHorizons®, Alpha-Bio Tec®, AB Dental®, Adin®, and Implant Direct® systems, covering the majority of internal and external hex implant platforms in active clinical use. The instrument tolerates repeated autoclave sterilization via fractionated pre-vacuum cycle at 134°C. The ratchet mechanism must be fully loosened before each sterilization cycle to prevent internal spring fatigue.
Implantologists and oral surgeons use the Dental Implant Torque Wrench Ratchet throughout fixture placement surgery and prosthetic loading procedures. During implant insertion, the surgeon seats the matching driver tip into the fixture head, engages the ratchet, and applies incremental clockwise rotation until the fixture reaches planned osseous depth. The same wrench is then used for cover screw placement, healing abutment seating, and final abutment screw tightening, each step requiring different target torque values within the 10–45 Ncm working range. The Star Ratchet Wrench 6.35mm Universal eliminates mid-procedure instrument changes.
Leader Surgical consistently delivers the instruments that anchor every implant procedure, the ones used from first fixture contact to final abutment seating. Sourcing this wrench here means receiving a verified, clinic-ready instrument without compatibility guesswork, delay, or compromise on build quality.
Why is it called a “Star” ratchet?
This refers to its primary compatibility with Torx (star-shaped) fasteners. Many users specifically seek this tool for automotive or high-value mechanical equipment where star-head screws are common.
