Periodontal Prichard Periosteal Instrument Fig.2

Double-ended periosteal elevator with spoon and angled spatula blades for precise flap reflection and periosteal elevation in oral surgery.

Key Features:
• Double-ended design with small rounded spoon and wide angled spatula blades
• Spoon tip for interdental papilla and narrow tissue access
• Angled flat spatula for broad periosteal elevation on ridge surfaces
• Long tapered shanks for controlled intraoral reach
• Solid stainless steel construction with uniform satin finish
• Knurled cylindrical handle with evenly spaced ribbing
• Supports both anterior and posterior surgical sites
• Fully autoclavable with resistance to blade deformation and surface wear

The Periodontal Prichard Periosteal Instrument Fig. 2 (LS1-365) is a double-ended oral surgery instrument with two differently profiled working ends — a small rounded spoon blade on the left end and a wider angled flat spatula blade on the right end. The central handle carries a knurled cylindrical grip with evenly spaced ribbing across the middle section and smooth elongated shanks tapering toward both working ends. Full construction uses solid stainless steel with a uniform satin finish from tip to tip.

The small spoon end addresses narrow interdental spaces and confined papillary zones with its rounded concave face. The right spatula end presents a flat angled blade face for broad periosteal stripping along cortical bone surfaces. As a Prichard PR-2 Periosteal Elevator, this Fig. 2 variant carries a wider spatula blade than the Fig. 1 design, expanding its reach across larger buccal and palatal ridge surfaces. The stainless-steel body holds up through repeated steam autoclave sterilization without blade edge rollover or dimensional change.

Periodontists use the Periodontal Prichard Periosteal Instrument Fig. 2 during full-thickness flap reflection in osseous resective surgery, implant site preparation, and ridge augmentation. The spoon end lifts the interdental papilla cleanly while the spatula blade reflects the broader mid-facial periosteum in one controlled stroke. This Double Ended Periosteal Elevator Fig. 2 suits both anterior esthetic sites and posterior molar regions without requiring a secondary instrument.

Leader Surgical manufactures this elevator with consistent blade geometry and handle dimensions across every production unit. Periodontal clinics stock it as a dependable flap reflection instrument for daily surgical use.

In which procedures is it most commonly used?
