perforated instrument tray and lid
Two-piece stainless-steel instrument tray set with full-surface perforations for efficient steam sterilization.
Key Features:
• Two-piece design: tray base (183×140×17 mm) and perforated lid (187×145×25 mm)
• Dense uniform square perforations across top, sidewalls, and tray floor for complete sterilant penetration
• Mirror-polished stainless-steel finish resists staining and ensures easy cleaning
• Lid overlaps tray on all four sides, sitting flush for secure containment during autoclaving and transport
• Shallow 17 mm tray depth keeps assembly low-profile for compact autoclave chambers
• Perforations allow free condensate drainage, reducing drying time and preventing moisture pooling
• Components sold individually for cost-effective replacement of worn parts
• Ideal for scalers, curettes, probes, and dental or minor surgical instruments
• Maintains containment during transport while allowing full steam exposure during sterilization
• Lightweight, durable construction suitable for repeated autoclave and chemical disinfection cycles

The Perforated Instrument Tray and Lid is a two-piece stainless steel instrument container where both components carry a dense, uniform grid of small square perforations stamped across the full top surface and sidewalls. The perforated lid (LS11-305 FC MINI) measures 187 × 145 × 25mm and overlaps the tray base on all four sides, sitting flush during autoclave runs and transport. The perforated tray base (LS11-306 FV MINI) measures 183 × 140 × 17mm, with the same perforation pattern continuing across the base floor and all four sidewall faces. Both components carry a mirror-polished stainless-steel finish that resists surface staining between sterilization cycles.
The perforations across both the Tray Lid Stainless Steel Perforated and tray base allow steam to reach every instrument surface simultaneously from above and below during autoclave cycles, cutting sterilization dead zones to zero. Condensate drains freely through the base perforations after each steam cycle, accelerating drying time and preventing moisture pooling that causes instrument corrosion. Both pieces are sold individually, allowing replacement of a single worn component without discarding the paired set. The shallow 17mm tray depth keeps the full assembly low-profile inside compact autoclave chambers.
Dental surgeons, scrub nurses, and sterile processing technicians use the Perforated Instrument Tray and Lid as a Perforated cable tray alternative for organizing scalers, probes, curettes, and burs during autoclave sterilization in dental and minor surgical settings. The perforated lid keeps instruments contained during transport while maintaining full steam access throughout the cycle.
Leader Surgical produces both components with matched perforation geometry and dimensional tolerances — ensuring the lid seats correctly on the tray base and both pieces perform consistently through hundreds of autoclave cycles.
Can they be used for sharp instruments?
Many perforated trays (especially micro-perforated or mesh types) are specifically designed with full-wall perforation to protect the tips and edges of sharp surgical instruments from damage.
