Implant Depth Gauge

The Implant Depth Gauge (Article# LS9-004) is manufactured from German-grade surgical stainless steel with a passivated corrosion-resistant finish. The instrument features a smooth, cylindrical single-piece handle with the LEADER brand mark, terminating in a single angled blunt probe at the working end. The probe tip is designed to enter the prepared osteotomy socket without cutting or displacing surrounding bone tissue. A companion measuring probe (LS9-003) with a wave-textured handle carries depth band markings at 6, 8, 10, 14, and 16 mm for reference during the same procedure.

As a dedicated Osteotomy implant depth gauge, this instrument carries graduated depth markings along the probe shaft, allowing direct reading at the crestal bone margin without removing the gauge from the socket. The smooth handle provides stable single-finger control during insertion. It withstands full autoclave sterilization at 134°C and is compatible with ultrasonic cleaning and chemical disinfection. Passivation prevents surface oxidation between cycles, and standard boil, performance, and shape quality-control tests confirm reusability before dispatch.

Oral surgeons and implantologists use the Implant Depth Gauge during dental implant placement surgery immediately after osteotomy preparation. The surgeon inserts the angled probe into the prepared socket and advances it to the apical wall. This socket depth probe delivers a direct millimetre reading at crestal bone level, confirming that socket depth matches the selected implant length precisely before fixture insertion, preventing under-seating or crestal bone overload at placement.

Measurement accuracy at the osteotomy stage defines implant depth for the life of the restoration. Leader Surgical stocks this gauge alongside its companion probe series, giving implant teams a complete, sterilization-grade depth verification solution that performs with consistent reliability across every surgical case it supports.

How do I use the depth gauge to measure an osteotomy?
Gently insert the probe into the prepared bone tunnel until you feel resistance at the base. For orthopedic procedures, extend the probe’s hook until it catches the far edge of the bone cortex, then retract the sleeve to read the measurement on the scale.
