Direct Bond Bracket Holder Tweezers (Small Tip)

The Direct Bond Bracket Holder Tweezers (Small Tip) measure approximately 127mm (5 inches) in total length and are constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel with a satin finish. The handle is a pronounced flat triangular wedge, widest at the base and tapering sharply toward the working end. The instrument operates as a dual-end tool: the working end carries a small square serrated blade tip measuring 0.4cm in width, while the base terminus tapers to a fine pointed aligner tip. Both ends are visible in the product image. The serrated blade face grips the bracket base through mechanical contact with the bonding mesh, preventing rotation during the bracket transfer stroke. The Leader Surgical brand mark is engraved on the lower handle section.

The small square tip dimensions allow insertion into minimum interdental clearance gaps, narrower bracket-to-bracket spaces than any wider-blade holder in this series can access. After initial bracket seating, the operator flips the instrument and uses the pointed aligner end to slide between the bracket base and tooth surface for fine positional adjustment without disturbing the bracket-composite interface. This two-step single-instrument workflow removes the need for a separate positioning tool. The instrument is fully autoclavable at 134°C and meets FDA, CE, and ISO 13485 standards.

Orthodontists use the Direct Bond Bracket Holder Tweezers (Small Tip) during direct bonding, placing metal and ceramic brackets on crowded anterior teeth where interdental clearance is minimal, then using the aligner end to slide and correct bracket mesiodistal position before light curing. The Direct Bond Bracket Tweezers 678-212 catalog standard covers this same small-tip aligner configuration.

Leader Surgical produces this instrument with verified 0.4cm tip-width tolerances and a consistent aligner-tip taper, meeting the functional demands of the Bracket Placement Tweezer 5″ Wide Serrated Tips category in daily orthodontic bonding sessions.

What is the “aligner” or “tapered tail” used for?
The back end of the handle often features a flat, tapered, or blade-like tip. This allows you to flip the instrument to precisely adjust the bracket’s position or press it into the adhesive without needing a second tool.
