Dental Amalgam Carrier

The Dental Amalgam Carrier is constructed from high-grade stainless steel, featuring a cylindrical barrel with a knurled grip body measuring approximately 130–140 mm in overall length. The instrument includes a side-arm spring-loaded lever mechanism that drives an internal plunger to eject amalgam material forward. The angled, tapered tip measures approximately 2–3 mm in internal diameter, allowing controlled loading of freshly triturated amalgam mix directly into prepared tooth cavities with minimal material loss.

The spring-action ejection system delivers consistent, measured increments of material per lever depression, significantly reducing chairside waste. The ring-stop base plate provides stable thumb and finger placement during active use. This amalgam carrier dental instrument is fully autoclavable at 134°C and withstands repeated sterilization cycles without corrosion, spring fatigue, or dimensional deformation, maintaining reliable mechanical function and structural integrity throughout extended clinical service life.

Dental Amalgam Carriers are routinely used by restorative dentists and general dental practitioners during Class I, Class II, and Class V amalgam restorations. The clinician loads triturated amalgam into the barrel tip, positions the instrument directly over the prepared cavity, and depresses the side lever to eject a controlled amalgam increment. The cavity is filled in successive layered increments before condensation and carving procedures begin.

Leader Surgical has built a strong reputation among dental professionals for producing instruments that perform with exact mechanical reliability at every stage of a procedure. This amalgam carrier reflects the brand’s dedication to consistent build quality, making it a preferred choice for restorative dental practices worldwide.

Why is my amalgam crumbling when I try to dispense it?
Amalgam has a very short working time. If it is not placed and condensed immediately after mixing, it may start to set, becoming crumbly and difficult to pack firmly.
