Band Removing Plier Length 14cm

The Band Removing Plier Length 14cm measures 140mm in total length and is constructed from medical-grade stainless steel with a high-polish finish. The jaw assembly uses two structurally opposite working ends: the upper jaw carries a wide, flat replaceable nylon occlusal pad; clearly visible as the white rectangular component in the product image, while the lower jaw terminates in a narrow-curved chisel blade. The jaw diagram confirms this T-bar profile: the wide pad sits perpendicular to the jaw shaft while the chisel tip curves upward at its terminal end. The nylon pad measures 4.76mm in diameter and is replaceable when worn.

The instrument operates on a lever mechanism rather than the shear-force action used in bracket removers. The nylon pad rests on the occlusal surface of the molar, acting as a fulcrum. The curved chisel blade hooks under the gingival margin of the cemented band. Squeezing the handles drives the chisel upward, transmitting prying force through the cement layer and stripping the band cleanly off the tooth. The nylon pad material absorbs occlusal surface load without scratching enamel. The box-joint hinge and spring-action handles maintain jaw return between strokes. The instrument is fully autoclavable at 134°C.

Orthodontists use the Band Removing Plier Length 14cm at fixed appliance debanding, removing zinc phosphate or glass ionomer cemented stainless steel molar and premolar bands. The band removing plier lever design delivers controlled upward stripping force with minimal patient discomfort compared to straight-cutter debonding methods.

Leader Surgical produces this instrument with a verified chisel-blade curvature and replaceable pad specifications, ensuring consistent fulcrum contact and band-stripping force across the full Band Remover Plier range.

How should I sterilise these pliers?
Most 14cm band removers are made of surgical-grade stainless steel and are fully autoclavable. Recommended Cycle: Autoclave at 121°C–134°C (250°F–273°F) for approximately 15 minutes. Dry Heat: Whenever possible, dry heat sterilisation at 190°C (375°F) for 6–12 minutes is preferred to prevent corrosive changes over time.
