Direct Bond Bracket Holder Tweezers
The Direct Bond Bracket Holder Tweezers are constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel with a satin finish. The instrument is a single rigid arm with a straight-sided, uniform flat-paddle handle, consistent in width along its full length, unlike tapered or triangular-body variants in this series. The working tip is a wide, flat serrated blade with horizontal grip lines running across its full face, the widest blade face in the bracket holder range. Immediately below the blade, a large rectangular shoulder block creates a prominent T-step transition between tip and shaft, clearly visible in the product image. This shoulder block seats against the bracket tie-wings after placement, providing a physical reference point for bracket height and lateral alignment. The Leader Surgical brand mark is engraved on the lower handle section.
The wide serrated blade face distributes grip force evenly across the bracket base during pickup, reducing the risk of composite displacement at the bonding mesh surface before placement. The straight uniform handle eliminates grip repositioning mid-transfer, the operator holds the same position from tray pickup through final tooth contact. The instrument is fully autoclavable at 134°C and meets FDA, CE, and ISO 13485 standards.
Orthodontists use the Direct Bond Bracket Holder Tweezers during both labial and lingual bracket bonding, the wide blade tip accommodates standard-to-wide bracket base dimensions across MBT, Roth, and lingual bracket systems. Direct Bond Bracket Tweezer Lingual configurations require this wider tip geometry to seat flush against the reduced-visibility lingual tooth surfaces where narrower tips lose positional stability.
Leader Surgical produces this instrument with verified blade-width tolerances and shoulder-block dimensions calibrated to standard bracket tie-wing spans, meeting Bracket Placement Tweezer 5″ Wide Serrated Tips category specifications across international orthodontic supply standards.
Why are the tips serrated?
The interior of the beaks often has fine grooves (serrations) or a diamond-shaped grip. This provides a more secure hold on the bracket, preventing it from slipping or rotating when it comes into contact with bonding adhesive on the tooth surface.
