The instrument is a single rigid arm with a straight-sided, uniform flat-paddle handle, consistent in width along its full length, unlike tapered or triangular-body variants in this series. The working tip is a wide, flat serrated blade with horizontal grip lines running across its full face, the widest blade face in the bracket holder range. Immediately below the blade, a large rectangular shoulder block creates a prominent T-step transition between tip and shaft, clearly visible in the product image. This shoulder block seats against the bracket tie-wings after placement, providing a physical reference point for bracket height and lateral alignment. Why are the tips serrated?
The interior of the beaks often has fine grooves (serrations) or a diamond-shaped grip. This provides a more secure hold on the bracket, preventing it from slipping or rotating when it comes into contact with bonding adhesive on the tooth surface.
